Intensive Moscow's Attacks Cut Electricity In Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in the region
The country's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and encountered interruptions to water systems, per reports from local authorities.

At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified attacks on electrical systems over recent weeks, while the country's government has requested "substantial measures" from allies to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but decisive action - from the US, European nations and the G7 - in supplying protection systems and applying penalties," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that 450 drones and more than 30 projectiles struck energy facilities, labeling such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were working to restore power.

A barrage of missiles damaged energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the capital have been hospitalized, as confirmed by local officials.

Regional authorities said the city came under significant strikes during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child was killed and multiple civilians were hurt.

The strikes follow nights of aerial attacks in the region, sections of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The entire country is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to spot.

Authorities told reporters that Russia was intentionally trying to damage the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already disrupting energy systems.

He said technical personnel and officials were bracing for more assaults.
