'People are fearful' - the reasons 'juggernaut' Arsenal are the side to defeat.

It's clear why Arsenal are now numerous fans' favorites to secure the Premier League this season.

Look at their results against Fulham and Crystal Palace in contrast with those same matches last season.

The Gunners have beaten all of them during this campaign, but lost 10 points across those games as they faded in the title race in the prior campaign.

Defensive Strength

Arsenal's defensive solidity is a primary factor why they are looking well positioned to finally fulfil their title goal.

They rank top for unbreached games (6), shots let in (3), shots faced (72), dangerous chances allowed (19) and anticipated concessions (5.3).

The central defensive pairing of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the strongest in the league, with Arsenal maintaining a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Dead-Ball Superiority

Their effectiveness from free kicks is well known, but competing clubs still don't know how to stop the Gunners from these situations.

They have registered 11 times from set-pieces in the league, two more than any other side, with 69% of their goals resulting from these situations.

"Arsenal can do a bit of everything now. The whole team has a intimidation presence. People are just afraid of them and it is great to see."

Title Claims

What is especially notable about Arsenal's commencement to the campaign is they have also encountered Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United on the road and Manchester City in their own stadium - and are still leading by four at the top.

While they continue triumphing, their long-standing opponents face difficulties. This marks the first time at this point of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The scrutiny was on manager Mikel Arteta at the beginning, having allocated around £250m on eight summer acquisitions in quest of that elusive first title since 2004.

But the spending has so far proven successful in style, with his side one of the most prolific attacks in the league and boasting the tightest defense, despite several injuries.

  • Unbreached games in each of their last three Premier League games
  • Nearly 6.5 hours without conceding a goal
  • Only a handful of concessions in 12 games across all competitions

Former players and pundits have labeled Arteta's men as a "powerhouse, looking hard to stop" with the whole club now performing with confidence and resolve.
